Scrapbooking Layout - My Life My Son

Scrapbooking Layout - My Life My Son

Creating this baby scrapbooking layout was very fun. It was my son's first time at the beach because he was born last summer, so was too little to actually go into the beach water. I had to scrap this page because it was a really fun day.

Materials Used:
1 White Background Paper
2 beige coloured Cardstock
7 patterned papers
clear velum
8 acrylic blocks
marker
pop up adhesive
plain adhesive
3 mini cloth pins
2 safety pins
2 star fish brads
1 arrow brad
white gel pen
black ink pad

First I created the time stamp. Usually I put a little date in the corner of my pages, but this one I wanted to make different. I put a BIG AND BOLD time stamp.

I took my light beige cardstock and I cut two strips. One longer then the other. I outlined them both in black ink pad by taking the paper and moving it from one end of the pad, to the next, until all sides were done. You can do this over until it's as black as you would like. I then glued them down. The larger one at the bottom of the white page, the half one at the top of the page. I then took a number template and put numbers on each. On the top, I only did half numbers, to give it a neat feel. I then took clear velum and I placed it over the 1 and the 4 (for 14 months-the age of my son in the pictures). After that, I took a patterned paper and I created a box, that would fit over the vellum edges so that you could still see the numbers. I put pop up adhesive on the back, and placed it down on each letter.

After that, I took that same light beige cardstock and I cut a strip of 2" paper. I glued that down 1/2" from the top time stamp paper. I then took the same patterned paper I used for the border on the vellum and I cut a strip slightly smaller (width) then the beige, so you could still see the beige. I glued that down to the beige.

I then took the dark beige cardstock and I cut a box a little over 2"x2". I cut another a little over 1 1/2"x 1 1/2". I then took my 6 other patterned papers and I cut 6 boxes (one of each coloured paper) a little over 1"x1". I then placed these 8 boxes down on black paper and I cut them so you could see a small amount of black border. I then took a black marker and drew - - - -'s around each box, close to the edges.

I took a thicker black marker and I wrote the number of months in the middle of the biggest box. I then wrote the number on top and underneath that number. Because I was doing months, each of my smallest boxes got one letter each. M,O,N,T,H. The medium box got two !! and the word "month" even though the word month was spread out in the boxes, having the words again adds more of a neat look to your layout. I then placed the biggest box on top, closest to the edge of the patterned paper strip I just glued down.

I then took 3 of my acrylic blocks (any colours) and placed them at the other edge of the page on the patterned paper.

After they were adhered down, I placed the medium box down, closest to the acrylic blocks.

I then placed all the letter boxes on top of each other, in every direction, to add a fun feel in-between the 1st and last box. I adhered them down with pop up adhesive.

I then took and created my picture background boxes. I took two shades of beige paper and I cut 4 sizes of each. I took two of them and I cut them to create a border with creative scissors. I placed the biggest one at the back, then the next size, the next, and finally the smallest. I took my black ink pad and I went over all the picture background papers for a smokey look. I adhered them all together. On top of these I placed pictures. You can do the boxes any sizes you want.

ADHERE PICTURES WITH POP UP ADHESIVE

I placed two star fish brads on the corners of the pictures, and I put an arrow brad on top of the picture to the left. Just for fun.

I wanted an embellishment that was out there and not used often. I used mini cloth pins, which i also outlined with black marker. You can also use your ink pad. I placed these on top of the picture to the right.

Underneath the picture to the left, I took the remainder of my acrylic blocks (should have 5 left), and I placed them over black paper, to give them a border and I adhered them down under the picture.

I then added two safety pins to both corners of the full page. I did this by poking through the paper, in and out so it can clip together again and close.

I then took my black pen and wrote "still our "little one"" on the left hand side, going up the page. This was my journaling. It looks neat because it's not the typical way writing goes.

I then did my final step. I took my thin black pen and did - - - 's all around the page for a border.

VOILA! DONE!
