If you're just starting out on scrapbooking and wondering how to control the mess created whenever you scrapbook, here's some easy tips you might find useful. The way to a clutter-free scrapping area begins even before you start to scrapbook. A few common items such as used envelopes, baby wipes, paper towels and rubbing alcohol will help to keep your scrapbooking space neat and tidy. They reduce the amount of mess you have to clean up after finishing each layout. Learn some quick tips on clean scrapbooking space and apply them on your next scrapping session! Tips on Clean Scrapbooking Space1) A photo box is a convenient way to store your photos as you can quickly flip through and pull out those photos you want to scrapbook. Promptly return those photos you decided not to use back to the box.2) A clear plastic box with divided compartments are fantastic at holding scrapbook pens, tools and embellishments. You can see just retrieve the items you need to use and place them back after you're done. 3) Keep a small bag next to your scrapping area and simply clear away those unwanted scraps into the bag as you scrap. I save up used envelopes and use them to hold my unwanted scraps. 4) Keep a shoebox nearby so you can put supplies you've used but won't be needing again for this session. This way, you prevent losing sight of your used supplies. You can also easily return these used supplies to their original places at the end of the session. 5) Find another shoebox solely to hold those paper scraps saved for future use. If you're consistent, you can sort the paper scraps and organized them after each scrapbooking session. If not, they are in the shoebox and you can always come back to the shoebox to sort and organize the paper scraps when you are ready to do so. 6) A roll of paper towels works great for cleaning up if you're playing around with paint and using adhesives. 7) Baby wipes work like a charm cleaning off adhesives, inks, and dyes on your hands as you work. You'll probably need them again to wipe clean your workspace and rubber stamps at end of the scrapping session. 8) For cleaning up of permanent inks, try rubbing alcohol which also works for cleaning up scissors or other stainless steel cutting tools stained with adhesives or inks. 9) When working with glitter, paint, beads, embossing powder and such, make sure your work table is covered up with newspapers, unless you have those wipe clean counter-top surface. Lucky you! The cover-up makes cleaning up after a messy scrapping session easier. Butcher paper is wonderful too and it's used by grade schools for arts and crafts. 10) Use a shallow tray to sort out and work with beads to prevent them from spilling all over your floor. Be consistent in cleaning up after you're done with each session and don't let the clutter accumulate. When you're just starting out, your supplies are in a small quantity so a clean scrapbooking space is very manageable. It's another story as your supplies grow and expand.
