Me - Digital Scrapbook Layout

Lora's First Digital Scrapbook Layout
This digital scrapbook layout marks my very first attempt at digital scrapbooking… I’m not sure if I like it so much – the concept of digital scrapbooking, not the page.
These are all pictures my boyfriend took of me the other day while we were at the lake, and they show me at my normal self: looking out at something without a notice to anything else. So, these pictures really are “me”, which inspired my title and my theme.
I’ve found that using a multitude of layering coupled with well-placed opacities allow for a computer-generated design such as this to look more 3-D than otherwise, thereby giving it more dimension and more appeal. I added opacities to white boxes behind text in order to mute the dark or busy background of my page so as to to draw more attention to my text/journaling, as well as to allow you to read it in the first place.
Also, since my background is dark, and this is a digital layout, I chose to add a light opacity to nearly everything on the page in order to hide any cropping errors, and to generally pull the layout together more.
As usual, I used a ribbon to break up the sections of the page into a distinct area for the title, and an equally distinct area for the pictures. I took advantage of the ribbon to add a few single-word descriptions (I’m not too big on journaling, I’ve noticed.) My final finishing touch was a repetition of a flower graphic I cropped from another background, and used as an embellishment in this design.
My introduction and inspiration for digital scrapbooking was initially taken from a book titled Paper + Pixels Scrapbook Layouts by May Flaum and Audrey Neal.
