Old Wrapping Paper - Visitor's Scrapbooking Tip

by Rachel Kirchner
(Chicago, IL, USA)

Hold on to old wrapping paper! Don't just throw it away! It makes for a great background behind photos or embellishments. Use wrapping paper from a special gift you received (e.g. a wedding gift) to use in a scrapbook page that highlights the event for which you received the gift. It adds meaning to your page, as well as a unique crafty touch.

Fion:
That's a nice idea to include gift wrapper from a special gift as a background. If you're worried about the acidity of these wrapper, you can use a deacidifying spray such as EK Success Archival Mist. It'll be fun to look back at such scrapbook pages and go "Oh I remember that! It's the gift wrapper from Laura's wedding gift to us!" It's always a fun idea to recycle old stuff to use on scrapbook pages for a more unique look.
