Scrap Book Supplies

Ever been to a scrapbook store to browse or buy scrap book supplies before?

How's your experience?

Exhilarating? Nerve-wrecking? Or simply mind-boggling?

It's a combination of all these for me.

If you're just casually browsing around the shop, you'll realize there's just so many things that you can choose from.

From the dizzying colors of cardstocks and patterned papers, countless embellishments, numerous albums, tons of brads, eyelets, tags to buttons, all these screamed endless possibilities!

Don't you just feel so tempted to grab an unplanned item or two or perhaps even a dozen?

Hang on tight to your purse! Impulsive buying might result in wastage later on. Somehow that pack of dark purplish fiber doesn't seem such a good idea upon reaching home.

Even when you have the full intention to shop for scrap book supplies, hold on for a minute before you dash into the store!

Unplanned shopping for scrapbooking supplies may lead to a bout of unplanned remorse later on.

It happened to me too.

Without thinking through, I let my excitement got the better of me. Then I had to come up with ways to dispose of those neon-green cardstocks, that pack of slides in 18 colors, and that mauve-colored Gel Roll that I hardly use...

So how about some handy tips to steer you towards a safer direction when shopping for scrapbook supplies?

Scrapbooking Shopping Tips

  • Shopping List - Just like grocery shopping, a scrapbooking shopping list works. Why? Because a list in hand will keep you better focused. It'll prevent you from running your eyes all over the racks and shelves and grabbing unnecessary scrapbook supplies, or that irresistible sticker set that you think you'll use someday...

  • Bring photos along - Decide on a set of photos that you'll like to work on and bring those photos along. It makes color-coordinating much easier. And you don't have to second-guess the colors to use.

  • One at a time - I've mentioned this guideline somewhere before and I'll risk repeating myself here. Until you can determine the usefulness of a new item like rub-ons, templates, stickers and such, buy a single unit of that item to test out. Once you've determined its usefulness, you can always buy more units of it when you next visit the scrapbook store.

With these simple shopping tips, you'll become a smarter scrapbook shopper! If you're ready for some smart shopping, check out these scrap book supplies.

If a new beginner and you're unsure of exactly what items you need to start you scrapbooking away, check out the list of scrapbooking supplies you'll need.
