I am the proud new grannie of this gorgeous baby boy - our first grandchild. Here he is 10 days old, asleep on mum and dad's bed.

The colours of this photo were my inspiration. Being strong and bright, they reminded me of Africa and wild animals. I own the lovely Stampin Up "Wild About You" stamp set and have inks and card stock that matched the photo exactly so it was easy to co-ordinate this page. I wanted to keep the layout simple and strong so I chose blocks of colour and no patterning.

Embellishments have been kept simple too, with just a little double stitched ribbon, some hodgepodge, a few brads and the title.

The minor part of the title "about you" is stamped onto card then cut out to fit inside a piece of Hodge Podge. I then filled the shape with Crystal Effects to create a gel and finally (the next day after it dried) stamped the same words over the top with Black Stazon.

I used a crimper to create the texture of the white card at the top of the page, and stamped the letters for "wild" before cutting them out and adhering them to the page.

The lions were stamped twice in each colour without re-inking the stamp. That is a perfect way to get different shades of the same colour.
