About Me

Fion in October 2013

Hello! Welcome to my little scrapbooking website. My name is Fion.

I stumbled upon scrapbooking in early 2005 when I was looking for a hobby. Once I stepped foot into a local craft store that had a section on scrapbooking supplies, I was hooked! Never mind that I didn’t buy a single item back then.

I was determined to find out more about this heart-captivating hobby and learn how to create pretty pages of documented memories. After attending a very basic scrapbook class, and after going through magazines and books on scrapbooking, I was on my way!

With this website, I hope to share with beginners on how you can start scrapbooking with my articles, ideas, tips, and suggestions. You don’t have to own a lot of supplies, fanciful embellishments and tools, you don’t even have to have an entire area set aside for scrapbooking, even though a scrapbook room does look so yummilicious right? ;)

But no, I’ve never owned a scrapbook room. The best I have is a scrapbook table cum working desk. And I don’t own many supplies. I’m not very creative too. All these didn’t stop me from creating a few albums of scrapbook pages. You too can be creating simple, attractive pages of layouts. Follow me, and  I’ll show you how.

Although I’ve stopped scrapping since the arrival of my son in early 2011, all the articles are still here to help you get started on scrapping. Over the years, I’ve received many emails from site visitors telling me how my information has helped them get started.

So I wish this little site would continue to spread some scrapbooking joy to more wonderful people like you!

Happy scrapping,

Hi Fion, I was looking around for info on buying Project Life here in Sg when I found your blog. I love your posts.

Your blog inspires me to take up some form of scrapbooking but I’m currently behind time. My 3 kids plus a full time job keeps me busy. But I’m trying to get my creative juice working since I have been working in a technical position for very long till last year. Hahha

Can I ask, is it more expensive to buy Project Life from Spotlight than buy from Amazon? I would love to just close my eyes and buy from amazon but I tell myself I need to look for the best bargains too.

Thank you for sharing with us your scrapbooking journey. I have bookmarked it! :)

      Hello AhCapp!

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me a lovely comment! :) 3 kids and a full time job, that’s plentiful on your plate. But if you can squeeze in some time to start on your Project Life scrapbook, I think it’ll jumpstart your creative juice and let you have some fun while preserving some of your family’s current memories. With Project Life, you can just start from right where you are now.

I’ve not been to Spotlight to check out their Project Life items. I used to shop there years ago for some of my scrapbook supplies, but not in recent years. But I did do a quick check of Project Life supplies from a Singapore online scrapbooking store before I made my purchase at Amazon and wow, their prices were much steeper than those of Amazon.

It helps that Amazon now ships free to Singapore when we purchase USD125 and above. So that makes a big difference. I was shocked when I realized that my shipping charges were over USD90 if there wasn’t any free shipping offered. You can read more about free AmazonGlobal Saver shipping.

To make sure I qualify for the free shipping, I bought my Project Life supplies, a bunch of books for my son’s birthday, a gift box of books for my niece’s birthday and a gift pack for my friend’s birthday. And when my Amazon parcel came, it was one big heavy box! ;) I was happy that I managed to save good money from my Amazon purchase.

But if you ever go to Spotlight to check out their prices, I’d love to know if they’re offering better prices than Amazon!

Fion, I just discovered your site and I love it! Even though I have tons of scrapbooking tools and items, I found that your suggestions for scrapbook pages were just what I needed to get inspired. I will be referring to the suggestions often. Thanks!

      Hi Rita,

Thank you for your wonderful comments about my scrapbooking website! I was on a budget when I scrapbooked back then, so I kept my supplies and tools to the basics and to a minimum, and focused more on telling a good story or memory using basic supplies. Do visit this website again to get some inspiration for your future layouts! :)

Thank you so much for this website! This has been so helpful for me. I was “stuck” with my ideas and imagination. Now, I feel my head is full of new ideas! I bought that e-book “500 scrapbooking sketches” from your website and I’m so happy I did it! Thank you so much!

Hey, so I am a student and I am doing a project on scrapbooking. I need a source for my project and I really like your website, but I don’t know if this is reliable. There aren’t any credits given. I need to know if you have edited this recently and when was this posted. This website looks great but I just need to be sure.

      Hi Caroline,

Thanks for your interest in my website. I have other students who approached me in the past asking me how should they cite my site as a source. You can put it as Fion Lim, http://www.everything-about-scrapbooking.com. I’ve started this site in 2005 and most of the articles were written years ago by me. In recent years, I don’t update my pages much unless I’m responding to comments. But about three weeks ago, I’ve updated this page http://www.everything-about-scrapbooking.com/free-digital-scrapbooking.html due to a comment by a kind reader. Hope this helps!
