This week’s scrapbooking idea is a piece of cake if you’ve always been a student. Student, yes I don’t mean you have to go to school to be one. But if you’re always learning something new, you’re always a student in some ways. :-)
It’s coming to end April, in the last few months, is there something new you’ve picked up? Learning to quilt? Finally attending the yoga class you’ve been wanting to go since last year? Putting aside your shyness and learning to swim from a coach?
Do you think a person is all done with learning once they graduated from school? Or do you believe that learning something new everyday is one of the best gifts in life? Henry Ford neatly put it this way, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty.”
For me, I never did learn to cook properly for many years. I put it off for as long as I could. At the back of my mind, I reassured myself that I would learn someday.
Cooking just wasn’t on my priority list till this April, when my sister and I found that either we have to package food from outside everyday or to pick up some basic survival cooking skills. ;-)
It’s really time for us to learn and the timing is kind of right. Any earlier and I won’t be any interested, and might even see it as a chore. But now, I decided to see learning to cook as a fun experience, and that’s reflected by the playful choice of colors on my layout.
Umm… this was the first dish my middle sister taught me how to cook. It’s a no-brainer dish actually. The result wasn’t perfect but it sure was edible! :-) And that reminds me that it’s my turn to cook lunch tomorrow and I still have no idea what to cook! Will go in search of some super-simple Chinese recipes from online…
Ok, it’s your turn to scrapbook about something new you’ve learned this year. It’ll be one layout where you’ll look upon in years to come and go, “See, I do have a learning spirit!” Enjoy this scrapbooking idea and have fun!
