Scrapbooking Quotes and Sayings for Your Layouts

Oops … facing a scrapbook page with missing words? Scrapbooking quotes to the rescue! Quotes are great thoughts, wisdom, or wit condensed into brief lines expressed by someone else. When chosen thoughtfully, a quote can help you express your inner feelings and thoughts, probably in fewer words too.

To you, maybe the journaling part is the hardest. That’s what worries some of my friends when they scrapbook too. They shared that it’s easy to place the photos and embellishments on the page, but they’re usually stuck at the journaling portion.

They have the journaling block (aka writer’s block). Do you have the same concern? Quotes can be a good solution.

Here are some wonderful benefits of using scrapbooking quotes:

  • Quotes are great space fillers. They put across messages or ideas you just can’t seem to put into words as effectively.
  • Quotes can inspire. You believe that some wise words from a famous person can act as a piece of valuable advice.
  • Quotes can lend an element of fun, inspiration, laughter, or sentimentality to your scrapbook pages. Maybe those are words you wish you had said them yourself.

Are these reasons good enough to make you want to include a scrapbooking quote in your next layout? Quotes can be the perfect companion for your scrapbook pages.

There are loads of quotes out there that you can use, just that you need to spend time digging quotes.

    1. Hi Carol,

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. Scrapbooking can be therapeutic, and it also provides a wonderful avenue to capture some of your favorite memories of your mom. How about some of most unforgettable moments with your mom, or her daily routine, the values she has passed on to you, or whatever stories of your mom that you’ll like for you or your children if you have any, to remember years down the road? You could also pick up some quotes that remind you of your mom, or your mom’s favorite quotes and scrapbook about that. Just take your time and scrapbook what feels right for you.

    2. I lost my husband of 31yrs to cancer. I made a scrape book(my first time ever) as I was putting my thoughts together with the picture made laugh and some made me cry but it helped because I had alot of wonderful memories.

      1. Hi Sandra,

Thanks for sharing your bittersweet experience in creating your first scrapbook! I’m sure it will be filled with beautiful memories you’ve shared with your late husband.

  1. What can I put at the start of my scrap book? It’s for Valentine’s Day and it’s gonna be filled with pics and first cinema tickets, first mistletoe etc, so it needs to be something like “here’s all our pics and memories” but not that rubbish. lol I can’t think! :(

    1. Hi Carmen,

Are you referring to the cover page of your romance scrapbook? You can put up a favorite photo of you and your boyfriend and put a title such as “Our First Memories Together” and decorate the cover to your liking. You can also replace the photo with a big pretty heart cutout or a series of smaller heart cutouts. Another example page title could be “Carmen and xxx, 2015-2016”. Just some ideas to spark your own creativity!

  2. I want suggestion for title name as well as order in which I can put my friend photos… I want it to be the best and make him happy… and I have less time too.. :(

    1. Hi Shobitha,

It’s hard for me to give you suggestions as I don’t know what kind of scrapbook you’re creating. But when it comes to scrapbooking, there’s no right or wrong way to creating your layouts. You can decide on a theme to make it easier for you to create your scrapbook. For example, Our Best Moments Together – put related photos and include journaling of your memories of the moments shared together.

  3. I want to make a scrapbook to be at my son’s wedding reception. I have pictures of both of them growing up and then pictures of their 1st met, dating and their engagement. Any ideas on how I should lay it out?

    1. Hi Sheryll,

This is going to be one meaningful scrapbook, which after being displayed at your son’s wedding reception, could be given to the newlyweds as a gift. Since you seem to have photos of the couple at various point of their courtship, perhaps you can lay out the photos in a chronological order, as you’ve mentioned. Layouts about the growing up years of your son, growing-up years of his wife-to-be, their first date, other important occasions till the date of their engagement.

Keep the layout design simple and consistent throughout the scrapbook album so that it is easier for the guests to look through the album at the wedding reception, especially when there might be many guests who want a look through. If you want an easier time in creating the layouts, pick 2-3 standard layouts you can repeat throughout the album. Focus on the photos, add in the important dates, occasion, and tidbits of information, and keep the embellishments simple and elegant.

If you’re stuck about how to place elements on your pages, check out how scrapbook sketches can help you save time.

  4. I want to make scrapbook for my best friend’s birthday but I have no idea on how to make it a crazy one? I don’t want to make it simple and I have less time too. And what should I write in it ?

    1. Hi Neeti,

If you want to inject some fun into your scrapbook, maybe you can look into using some fun colors for your pages and add in some pretty embellishments to dress up your pages. Look into getting some fun and colorful stickers with expressions that will help you to express some of your thoughts on the page.

As for journaling, you can share your thoughts about your friendship, or pick a few beautiful friendship quotes to sprinkle throughout your scrapbook, or note down some of the details of the photo for memory’s sake.

There are really many different ways you can take this. First off, you might want to sort through some of your photos and decide on several photos you want to use for your scrapbook, then decide on how many pages you want to create, and then start creating your pages. Have fun!

  5. I am starting a business and was wondering if I could direct my clients to this site so they can choose some for their scrapbooks?

You’re welcome to direct your clients to this site if you believe that the scrapbooking information will be useful for them. Wishing you all the best in your new business! :)
